About Me Computer professional for 26 years, thoroughbred horse breeder now going through life-changing events and becoming professional in hypnosis so that I can do some good in this world for people that I don't know yet. I think in some ways many of us become lost sheep and wander down the wrong road. I'm trying to stop wandering.
Music I've been experimenting with binaural and isochronic beats and frequencies for several years. There is something there.
Movies Body Double, Scarface, Goodfellas, Hard 8, House of Games, Groundhog Day
TV On the Record with Greta Van Susteren, The Deadliest Catch, Crime and Investigation Channel, New Idea with Danny Deutch, No Reservations.
Books I've read all of the books I could find by and on Milton Erickson and Hypnosis. I am constantly given books to read by a Psychologist friend of mine and most of them are rubbish. I don't get to read as much as I'd like (join the crowd !).
Likes Open-mindedness, dedication to one's own beliefs, the ability to live and let live. One person's compassion and understanding of another person'r plight.
Dislikes I try not to be concerned with that, the time I would spend in disliking something or somebody has many ways to be better spent.
Hobbies I like to go to the racetrack. To me it's a wonderful event and part of our American history. The act of wagering on a horse is a game of your skill versus the skill of others that few appreciate. Gambling is a different story and is a serious problem in our society now. I profit on a yearly basis and could probably do it for a living, but it's too much work every day, it ruins the enjoyment of it. I also like pinochle.
Vices Cigarettes at times, you really should ask my wife, I'm sure she has a complete list.
Virtues I would assume that will be for others to decide, I try to improve on them daily and, most importantly, to give rather than receive.
Heroes Heroes can be everywhere, everyday. We can be heroes to. Never pass up the opportunity to reach out a hand to help our fellow human beings.

Does anybody use this anymore ?  Andre Weitenhoffer talked about it and it is wonderfully simple and works great.

    Opening Oysters

One thing excellent I'm leaning about Hypnosis is that it's always a learning process. I'm beginning to see why, as a group, Hypnotherapists enjoy their work and have great enthusiasm, even after years in practice. It's wonderful to have the experience, guidance and resources of the best in the profession, willing to help in any way.

    Fun in training !!!

    Tuesday, March 25, 2008, 07:30 PM [General]

Having such fun in training and have a great teacher, Wendy Goldenthal from this board. Have a great group and doing some great learning. Class is definitely enjoyed by all and is really getting better each week as we all get to know each other. It's a great time to establish some personal and professional relationships with all future members of the NGH. The big benefit of the NGH training is the ethics and professionalism, which are a key part of the course. I can see how issues with hypnotists could arise just from a lack of knowledge of these issues on their part and good training in it makes things so much easier for everybody.

One idea I've been thinking about lately I need some help on. I've been reading some Kroger and am intigued by a statement he makes on suggestibility. He states that the hyper-suggestible state is not just the result of bypassing the critical factor, but also from a lack of comparitive material. In some way it's like the chicken and the egg, but in other ways it's fascinating.

    Hmmm. Next week, automatic writing.

    Time for training !!!

    Tuesday, February 19, 2008, 08:42 AM [General]

This week begins a long awaited and highly anticipated stage in my life, training towards NGH certification. Over the years, all of my research and homework has shown me that if you truly want to become a professional Hypnotist, the NGH is the only way. For me, it all comes down to integrity and helping others and to see that in action you have to look no further than these blogs.

The field of Hypnosis is probably one of the most misunderstood by the public, as we all know. So, we are starting out at a true disadvantage from Day One. It's an uphill battle at every turn as you must try to educate, de-educate, then re-educate the average person about the truth regarding Hypnosis. I'm thinking of putting on my card:

    1) Yes, it is real.

    2) No, it doesn't work that way.

    3) Yes, it can help you,

I figure that can save me a bunch of time answering the first three questions all people seem to have.

Well, my classes begin Feb 20th and I'm fortunate to live close to Wendy Goldenthal and take her spring 2008 course ( Hypnosis.com award-winning website !). Wish me well !!!

    Travelling the Awareness Highways

    Saturday, November 17, 2007, 11:43 AM [General]

The more we begin to understand how we actually function on a complex blend of multiple levels of awareness, the more we can begin to see how little we really know about the processes beneath the surface of our conscious existence.

Hypnosis gives us unique experience and insight into the human condition. We can see how one incident, often of short duration, can act as the primary determining factor for a person's entire life, without their knowledge or understanding. We can see people make changes, positive and quick changes, only when they are able to deal with those issues at the different levels of awareness that the true affect is occuring. Perhaps there are more levels ?

Hypnosis and Auto-Hypnosis are powerful tools that can make underappreciated difference in not only the lives of people, but the lives of all those around them, even mankind in general. I know I'm preaching to the choir when I speak of the amazing transformations we see with minimal application. Helping people to approach life on the different levels they operate on is the key to all growth and change.

Erickson's major facilitator in helping people was not his profund knowledge of how the mind worked, it was his understanding that it worked on different levels. He always stressed to look at people as a complete integrated package. His most dramatic work was the enabling of his clients to access those levels of awareness where true change was possible.

We live in exciting times, times of technology and discovery. Remember the hypnotic phenomena is only bound by the constraints of man, which we don't really know the true natures of.
